Recognizing the importance of citizenship education in the child and youth population, the “Germinar um banco de sementes” - grounded in civic and active participation in the prevention and solution of environmental issues - project aims the pursuit the Agenda 2030’ Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on the points:

PROTECT, RESTORE AND PROMOTE SUSTAINABLE USE OF TERRESTRIAL ECOSYSTEMS, SUSTAINABLY MANAGE FORESTS, COMBAT DESERTIFICATION, AND HALT AND REVERSE LAND DEGRADATION AND HALT BIODIVERSITY LOSS

In preventing the extinction of threatened species, promote equal access to genetic heritage and protection of floristic species.

 

 

 

This project is also in line with the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation (EGCB 2011-2020), addressing the five strategic objectives:

1. Understand and document plant diversity;
2. Preserve;
3. Promote education for plant diversity awareness;
4. Training for conservation;
5. Use plant diversity in a sustainable way.
