In the second lesson, they learn the parts of plants (root, stem and leaves) and each species' different adaptations; the seeds (tegument, cotyledons and embryo); the embryo (germ, stem and radicle); plants use processes to adapt to environmental conditions such as dormancy and germination.

At the end of the lesson, each student could sow a seed of their choice (Mizuna Mustard, Greville Turnip, Cherry Belle or French Breakfast Radish, Wild Orchid).
